We left Windermere and enjoyed the train to Edinburgh.
We didn't know how far it was to our hotel so we went to the taxi stand.
There were lots of stairs and a porter helped with my bag-no elevators
When we gave taxi manager our hotel, he said we could easily walk there.
No way was I going back up those stairs.
We took the taxi and gave the driver a good tip.
It was right across from the train station.
We had time to walk around and grab something to eat.
I had to snap the skirt made of men's ties. Might be a future project.
Edinburgh is very hilly and we had an evening ghost tour scheduled.
It poured down rain and I stayed in our room.
Martin took an umbrella and joined the tour.
The next morning we made our way to the bus depot and joined our tour group.
Our driver & leader was Hannah.
First we went to see the Kelpies statues.
It was breezy and I was glad for my coat and ear covering.
There was a canal with locks at the Kelpies park.
Next stop was Lock Loman.
Below is a view across the water.
We were parked at a forest area by Loch Loman.
There was a visitors center and a few exhibits about the forest.
Reminds me of forests in north Georgia.
Beautiful day
After the Loch and forest we went to a wool factory and grabbed a pasty in the town.
The wool factory did not have any wool yardage for sale, so I skipped photos.
The best part of the tour was Sterling Castle.
We walked all over it.
Hannah gave us over to a castle tour guide.
There were beautiful gardens.
And views into the distance.
So much to see.

Unlimited players on each side.
We had to leave early because the employees decided it was time to close.
When we got back to Edinburgh we had to find our way back to our hotel.
My hip was bothering me so Martin went out and bought dinner - soup and sandwiches.
Next day - travel to York.
